Date: 14th May 2020

During the academic year the Enactus Teesside team enrolled in the Amazon Campus challenge with the hope of developing e-commerce skills and supporting a business launch their products. The amazon Campus Challenge is a competition that enabled young entrepreneurs with the opportunity of supporting a local business sell the products on Amazon.

The team identified Bowe Organics a beauty cosmetics company based in Darlington, UK who sell organic lip balm and lash oils . The team began working Bowe in early October when they were planning out how they could work together and the best way to get Bowe Organics onto Amazon.

The journey was interesting as both parties learnt the dynamics of Amazon and the documentation required to successfully create a seller platform on Amazon.

Eventually after submitting all the required and  completing all the required steps.

The team successfully setup  a seller platform for Bowe Organics and sales launched on the 13th of January 2020. A huge congratulations goes out to Takura, Funso & Kenrick for remaining committed and innovative throughout the journey.

Looking back at the year the team got involved in a lot of activities which expanded the team’s growth and its member base.  We can all be exceptionally proud of the extraordinary effort and energy put into Enactus this year. We will bounce back next year.

Faces of Change 2019

Faces of Change Campaign 2019

Author: Takura Sibanda

Date: 29th September 2019

#FacesOfChange was a campaign to showcase the people behind the social action and the causes they are passionate about.

It was a chance for social entrepreneurs and social changemakers to tell their personal story, what made them who they are and how their journey has made them passionate about making the world a better place. Because to us, business is personal, and we know when we support a social enterprise we are supporting the dream and journey of the person behind it.

So Enactus Teesside took part in this campaign showcasing how their project Freedge was changing the world by tackling food waste and alleviates hunger amongst our beneficiary group. We are social entrepreneurs and we are changing the way business is done. #facesofchange #enactusuk #enactusteesside #socialentrepreneurs

Enactus Summer Action Competition 2019

Enactus UK Summer Action Competition 2019

Author: Takura Sibanda

Date: 31st August 2019

The Enactus UK year starts the day after National Competition in mid-April, but all too often teams only really begin to work together and take action from the academic term in September/October. This means that a large amount of the year is not taken advantage of- 142 days to be exact.

The Summer Action agenda intends to change that, and enable every team to understand what they can do over summer and exactly how to do it to make sure they have the very best start to the new term in September and to welcome in your new members!

Over summer there are 4 areas of summer action, all teams need to work on, and they are

  • Support Network
  • Team Development/ Recruitment
  • Projects
  • Finance

All of these areas will then be compiled into the final submission which is sent in at the end of August.

This past summer action was memorable because the Teesside team managed to compete effectively and get recognised by Enactus UK. Th team went through a tough summer with members who departed which made it more challenging, but resilience set in and the remaining members stayed committed and delivered a successful summer action portfolio.

At the end of the competition Teesside were recognised as one of the highly commended teams that performed exceptionally well throughout the year.

A big well done goes out to the dynamic duo of Takura and Vishak.
