The Website Update 2020

The Website Update

Date: 1st June 2020

At the beginning of April, I took on the responsibility for leading an overhaul update of the website you are looking at today as a UX Developer/ Iteration Lead.

I formed a web team with the help of the longest serving member of Enactus Teesside John. I recruited key personnel for the big job like Jozeene, Tatenda, Vishak, and Liam. In the initial stages we set out on learning how the website worked and gathered the information and images necessary to for the website update.

Once we learnt what platform we would be using to do the development and had collected all the necessary information we set out a plan to complete changes using a Kanban Board in Trello. We have now designed and published all of the pages.

I wanted to congratulate and  thank the team for all their efforts.  I am proud I have learnt a new skill that I am sure to utilise in future.

The final website was assessed by our debutante QAs Nora and Liam.

Date: 2nd – 3rd November 2019

On the 2nd and 3rd of November the Teesside team attended the annual Enactus UK Project training weekend held at Glasgow university home of Enactus Glasgow.

This weekend is one of the biggest in the Enactus calendars as all the Enactus UK team undergo training from Enactus UK staff and Enactus Alumni Members on the project and innovation streams which aim to improve the sustainability of their projects and provide them with insight into making creative events and activities that can further their team growth, income and project impact.

There was also a careers fair that took place after the training sessions where companies like BiC, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Unilever and Visa were in attendance networking with Enactus students and informing them of upcoming roles for graduates and placement internships.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the training weekend were very motivating and a massive congratulations to all the teams that competed in the Summer Action competition.

A special thank you goes out to the University of Glasgow for hosting all the Northern Enactus teams and Enactus UK for planning the event.

Faces of Change 2019

Faces of Change Campaign 2019

Author: Takura Sibanda

Date: 29th September 2019

#FacesOfChange was a campaign to showcase the people behind the social action and the causes they are passionate about.

It was a chance for social entrepreneurs and social changemakers to tell their personal story, what made them who they are and how their journey has made them passionate about making the world a better place. Because to us, business is personal, and we know when we support a social enterprise we are supporting the dream and journey of the person behind it.

So Enactus Teesside took part in this campaign showcasing how their project Freedge was changing the world by tackling food waste and alleviates hunger amongst our beneficiary group. We are social entrepreneurs and we are changing the way business is done. #facesofchange #enactusuk #enactusteesside #socialentrepreneurs
